A Simpler Way to clone a complex mp3tag setup

  1. Execute the Mp3tag menu item "File/Save Configuration" and create the zip package.
  2. Open the just created "Mp3tagSettings.zip" using the packer tool "WinRAR".
  3. In WinRAR press [Alt+X] and apply the conversion from zip package into a "WinRAR SFX" self extracting exe file.
  4. In the SFX dialog tab "Extended SFX options" set the target folder for the extraction to ...
    %APPDATA%\Mp3tag
    ... choose as 'absolute pathname'
    (... for the first attempts you may work with a well known test output folder, ...
    if that works, then apply the variable folder %APPDATA%\Mp3tag)

    5. Press [OK].
  5. Now the file "Mp3tagSettings.exe" should exist beside the file "Mp3tagSettings.zip".
  6. Execute "Mp3tagSettings.exe" and check the result

The dialog "Extended SFX options" offers some more interesting options.
