... Alternatively, the $if-tests for those two codes would be also unnecessary if I would use a workaround like this:
1] copy value from TRACK to some XXX tag field
2] run the code
3] copy back the value from XXX to TRACK, but only if the value of XXX do exists [field is not empty]; and of course I don't know how to condition that
4] clear the XXX tag

I did it, with the addition of a safe fail feature to the DISCNUMBER

And so here is my whole automated TRACK and DISCNUMBER numbering process; derived from a FILENAME with a 000 / 00 track format at the beginning of it [made with the help of you and user ohrenkino]
