# 2.28 Writing Tag Data running slowly

I just upgraded from 2.26 to 2.28. I loaded 70 files and changed the artist name. I selected save and was surprised at how long it takes compared to 2.26.

What's up with that?

It is possible that your files did not have an ID3v2 tag before or that the padding in your old ID3v2 was not big enough, so the whole files had to be rewritten.
