# 28 characters need to be removed from file name

Hello  
In a recent work all files are stamped with a mysterious code in the right part of the file  
For example:

Name1-bEPvh2BAK-Y-128k-1705842025.wma  
Name2-hMrAivGwlwM-128k-1705841979.wma  
Name3-QDdL7YdZx6Q-128k-1705841929.wma

This garbage filer is exactly 28 characters

I wonder if there is any easy way to remove them.

If you still have the "original" Name in a tag like TITLE you could recreate the filename with it.  
For example you could use the Convert Tag -\> Filename with the Format string:  
`%TITLE%`

If you only want to rename your files - and not use the tags - I would suggest to use a specialized file rename software.

If you insist to use Mp3tag for this task, you can have a look at the [function](https://docs.mp3tag.de/scripting/#string-functions) `$cutRight` and remove your 28 characters from the \_FILENAME with this Format string:  
`$cutRight(%_FILENAME%,28)`
