# A few newbie questions on Filename order of

I'm trying to extract the Title and Artist from the filename:

Example: **A Broken Heart Can Mend - Alexander O'Neal.mp3**

I haven't had any success when the Title comes before the Artist in the filename.

Questions:  
Are the $ variables assigned to a specific placeholder?  
If so, in what order are they read?

Just use "Convert \> Filename - tag" with format string **%title% - %artist%**
