you see the fieldnames in the extended tags dialogue (which you already showed us in your screenshot) - to address a field by its name in a text string, enclose the name with %: ARTIST -> %artist%

A look at the documentation may get a you first glance at the functions:

For example %artist% is just the Mp3tag syntax for "use the content of the field with the name ARTIST as you can see it in View -> Extended Tags."

I AM a bit slow on the uptake….but… i FINALLY get that you type that exactly as shown….. I had thought that the % a was a symbol for variable value… (disc or track no.s..) DOHHHHHHHHHHHH..

I think I am going to rip al tracks on each CD as 1 track……… I found that watching the playback progress and make sure that no tracks were skipped to be very distracting…
