# Action: remove fields then, replace fild with custom string

Hi.  
I am able to remove all tags except they I want using the quick action " **remove fields except**" with **ALBUM;ALBUMARTIST;ARTIST;YEAR**.

I try to also use the Action group to add fields **ALBUM** and **ALBUMARTIST** and assign them with value **[no album]** and **[no album artist]**, but nothing happens when I run it.  
What am I doing wrong?

You use actions of the type "replace" which can only replace a text if is there.  
Try an action of the type "Format value" - please note that `[`and `]` are special characters in format strings.

worded!, and I used `'` to be able to use `[` and `]`.
