# action to change tag version?

I've started using a sandisk sansa, which doesn't understand ID3v2.4 tags.
I've got a number of files that are tagged in 2.4.
I understand how to convert 'em manually (set 2.3 as "write", everything as read and as remove in options).
then, manually, I select all, then ctl-Z to remove the unwanted tags, then ctl-V to paste the clipboard back in as tags (and as 2.3 is set as "write", it'll create new 2.3tags).
I'm wondering if there was a way to automate this in an action. I suppose I could write tags to file, then remove all, then import from file - is that the right way to go? That'd certainly never leave me stuck with all tags removed if I lost power (or whatever).
...and now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not at all sure the "remove" step is necessary. Where do 2.3 tags get written if there are already 2.4 tags?

Just use "Save tag" [Ctrl+S] and the tags get converted.
