# Add new genre

Hi ,
I'd like to classify many of my albums as "Piano Jazz". How can I do this?

Make sure that you write V2.3 tags as they allow to write user-defined genres. V1 tags only allow predefined genres.
Select all the files for the new genre.
Type in the name of the genre in the genre field in the tag panel.
Press Save.
Done.
