# Adding artist name to song title?

Hi: Really nice design, I like the program!
I often end up adding the artist name to the song title when ripping compilation albums, so that the song appears as "Clarence Ashley: Coo Coo Bird," or some such. Then I just change the "artist name" to the title of the compilation album. This keeps me from having billions of artists with only one song, and makes it easier to navigate my collection.
Is there any way to add the artist name + colon (🙂 to the song title automatically?

Chris,
you can create a new action Format value via the Convert, Actions dialog and set the field to **TITLE** and let Mp3tag format it with a format string like **%artist%: %title%**.
This will prefix the existing content of the title field with the value of the artist field.
