# Brilliant piece of software - Will MKV Cover art support be in the works?

I've been using this software for a few years now and first of all it's brilliant. I often work with MP3 or MP4, to my surprise the other day I noticed MKV tagging is now supported (Post version 2.85 I believe?). A very pleasant surprise.
I notice cover art is however not yet supported, does anyone know if this is in the works? I was also generally wondering, what difficulties does the complexity of MKV format present when producing a metadata editing tool?
I know there are very few MKV metadata editing tools out there - I'm just feeding my curiosity.

[Mp3tag v3.06e](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/455) adds support for editing cover art with Matroska MKA/MKV.
