# Cannot find actions and settings after installing new version

Hi, thank you for the new version. I've just installed it but I've lost **all my actions I had and genres** ; also there is a new configuration with new columns.  
Last versions always kept all these. These new version doesn't ...

Any idea how to recover it? Thanks in advance.

Did you switch from portable to a local (standard) installation or the other way round?

Have a look either at the old installation folder, or check  
%appdata%\MP3tag  
if there are any files in the data and export folders that you recognize and that have an older modification date.  
Then copy these files either to the new installation folder\data if you have a portable installation  
or to the %appdata%\mp3tag\data folder if it is a standard one.

Thank you very much for your quick answer. It works! I recover all 😓😓😓  
Just a last comment, now when marking icon "x" red in bar, which means "remove tag", it removes ALL the columns. Is it normal? It doesn't before ...  
Thank again for your help, and I hope it will help others users.

Yes, removing the tag means that all the fields that together make up the tag get deleted. I swear that it was like this since ages ago.  
Also check out the context menu of the files list that has some more tag-related functions (like cutting, pasting).
