# Can't delete id3v1 tags

I have been going through a process to clear out all my APE and ID3v1 tags from my MP3 files and leaving just the v2.3 tags. This has largely been successful but I have a handful of MP3's where it won't delete the ID3v1 tag. It says its deleted them but the tag is still showing as existing in the "Tags in File" column.
Any ideas what could be causing these tags not to delete. I can't see anything obvious in the Extended Tags screen.

I can only guess without having the file at hand, but the file may contain multiple ID3v1 tags due to a buggy application that has been used to tag the files.
