# Can't figure out how to create a custom field for podcast

I have been trying for awhile now and nothing seems to work. I am entering `$metasep(podcast,\\)` in the "Value" line and it appears as a column but nothing I add shows up. What am I doing wrong?

Did you have a look at the [help on columns](https://docs.mp3tag.de/customization/file-list)?

And while you are at it: "[Scripting](https://docs.mp3tag.de/scripting/#metadata-functions)" is also a good topic for $meta\_sep()

And the [list of fields](https://docs.mp3tag.de/mapping) might also be of interest.

You probably need to add `%podcast%` to _Field_.

And the correct scripting syntax would also help

vs  
`$meta_sep(podcast,\\)`
