Dear friends, I am struggling with a probably small problem.

In the 'Genre' field I want to replace one specific character,

for example replace character `\` with `\\`

I think I've done this in the past but can't seem to find it again

Replacing characters can be done via an action of type **[Replace](https://docs.mp3tag.de/actions/replace/)**. However, I'm curious about your concrete example: in Mp3tag, the double backslash `\\` is used as a multiple-fields separator.

That means, if you enter `Genre1\\Genre2` you end up with two genre fields (you can use the extended tag dialog at Alt+T to check).

So if you want to split an existing field into multiple fields, an action of type **[Split Field by Separator](https://docs.mp3tag.de/actions/split-field/)** is the way to go.

Hey Florian, I discovered through a customer that "Genre" with `\\` instead of `,` works better with the ROON app.
Hence I want to change `Genre One,Genre Two` to `Genre One\\Genre Two`. Unfortunately, until now I can't figure out how to do this
Best regards, Fernand

Then I suggest trying the Split Field action I've mentioned above with `,` as separator.
