Dear community,

I have a little compatibility problem concerning the _CONDUCTOR_ field in MP4 files. I use MP3Tag to tag my audio files (of course 🙂 ) and [MediaPortal](http://www.team-mediaportal.com/) as media center software. MediaPortal relies on _taglib-sharp_ as tagging library. Unfortunately, the _CONDUCTOR_ field written by MP3Tag is not read by MediaPortal.

In the [tag field mappings documentation](https://docs.mp3tag.de/mapping), conductor is not listed for iTunes, so I guess that MP3Tag doesn't treat _CONDUCTOR_ as a predefined field. When I view my MP4 files in a hex editor, I see that MP3Tag writes a _com.apple.iTunes_ atom having its name property set to CONDUCTOR.

I [found out](http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/listen-music-99/issues-album-artist-field-101372/) that MediaPortal is looking for a MP4 atom called _cond_. Thus I tried a custom mapping in MP3Tag from _cond_ to _CONDUCTOR_, but this didn't help. I think this is because MP3Tag writes a _com.apple.iTunes_ atom, and not a _cond_ atom. One of the MediaPortal developers created a tag editor called [MPTagThat](http://www.team-mediaportal.com/extensions/music/mptagthat) which I used for problem analysis. It creates a _cond_ atom on my files.

I don't know if there is a spec for MP4 audio tags, so I don't know how to store the conductor correctly.

Can I configure MP3Tag use _cond_ instead of _com.apple.iTunes_?
If not, see this as a request for enhancement.

Does anyone see a chance to write the _cond_ atom with MP3Tag?

It is not possible.
