hey, in short **i want to convert all my album tags(TPE1) to album artist tags(TPE2) leaving the artist field blank.** i don't want to do them individually b/c i have 88 compilation albums that all have different artist in each and every album, (a WHOLE lot of artists). i gotta do it for my crummy new ipod that wont let me sort with compilations, which gives me a listing of a couple hundred artists names i don't wanna see. so i figure if i change artist field to album artist and change artist to say "VA" or leave it blank, when im listening to the albums ill still know who im listening to but i wont have to break my thumb scrolling around in the artist listing to get to my favorite artist... any response is appreciated! ---

You can do this with this action set Action #1: _Action type:_ **Format value** _Field:_ **BAND** _Formatstring:_ **%artist%** Action #2: _Action type:_ **Remove fields** _Fields to remove (semicolon-separated):_ **artist** But have you tried to set the field ITUNESCOMPILATION to 1 via the ![:mt_tag:](https://community.mp3tag.de/uploads/default/original/1X/e7edc735a96d8d241c37593e98667ab3dc20c6b6.png ":mt\_tag:") extended tag dialog? That might also solve your problem. ---
