When I use "Convert \> Tag to Filename", it handles the slash character as if it were meant to be a directory divider.

For example, if the Artist field is "Artist 1 / Artist 2 / Artist 3", the convertor sees this as a directory tree. I have also seen this when handling Title tags, such as "Foreplay/Long Time." I doubt that is ever what the tag is supposed to mean. Is it possible to convert the slash character within a tag to, say, an underscore, which won't confuse the directory structure?

Yes! You can enable _Preferences → General → Replace invalid NTFS characters_ to let Mp3tag replace them automatically when renaming.

If you want to have a more fine-granular control over how those are replaced you can use the `$replace()` scripting function, e.g.,

`$replace(%artist%,/,_)`
