Whether I use **Copy as Text** in the edit menu or **Tag Copy as Text** in the main window, **%filename%** does not seem to work. It is not flagged as an invalid tag but it just won’t copy the info to the clipboard. If I use any other tag, it works perfectly. Am I missing some subtlety here? Also, I checked for updates and I have the latest version.

The correct name is %\_filename%

But why do the other tags work without the underscore?

Please see the documentation on [mappings](https://docs.mp3tag.de/mapping/) and other [property variables.](https://docs.mp3tag.de/format/#technical-information)
The "why" question will not lead us anywhere.
