I am embarrassed to have to ask this question as it has been asked and answered...but I cannot get any of the answers to work for me.

I want to set the default cover art name to be "cover.jpg" instead of "folder.jpg".

I did try to RTFM first 🙂 I read and tried these:

1. "The default name is set in the Options Ctrl-O \> Tag Sources." I'm not sire if something needs to be selected when doing this, but on my Mac CTRL-0 doesn't do anything. And I can't find "Options"- is this "Settings" on a Mac? I didn't see anything there,

2. "Default file name for cover art

Can someone please provide explicit step-by-step instructions for this? I am sure I will end up saying "Oh, that.." but I am very stuck for now. Thanks in advance.

The configuration setting you're looking for is at at **Settings → Export → Cover Filename** where you'd enter `cover`

The file extension is appended automatically by Mp3tag, depending of the image format of the cover to be saved.

> [@Preferences and Configuration](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/preferences-and-configuration/56296#p-169230-cover-filename-15):

> You can configure many areas of Mp3tag via the preferences window at Mp3tag → Preferences… or ⌘ , General Startup Folder Here you can specify the startup behavior of Mp3tag. None starts with an empty File List. Previous starts with the folder which was loaded the last time you’ve used Mp3tag. Other… lets you choose a explicit folder that is loaded on startup. Genres Use standard genres If enabled, Mp3tag lists the standard genres in the genre field on the Tag Pane…
