> I think the same as Koala. I don't see the benefit of you script, because the built-in function of MP3Tag is better and easier to use. And I have the same cover for every track in a folder.

My music library is about 75% genre based, not album based. That means I have large folders of say, "80s rock" or "Disco", or "Heavy metal" with only the hits from those genres. I don't want all of these "singles" cluttering the list of albums, so they are set up like very large "various artist" albums. This means The SONG artist and SONG title what I need to search on to find matching cover-art.

I had over a decade's worth of MP3s that i had collected, but never bothered much with the album art for. Then I got a car that displays the artwork. Trying to resolve this was going to be a major chore without help. Every other search tool I've tried fails to return art because they want the album name to match, or try to use Album Artist. DiscOverArt worked beautifully. It usually finds the CD-Single artwork which gives each song a unique cover. If it doesn't exist it usually finds the album it belongs to.

Love this tool. Thanks so much for it!

When executing the DisCoverArt Tool Norton kicks in and spits out a firewall alert and labels the exe as trojan and according to virustotal, as do 5 other scanning softwares:

[https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/4d9e3f29...sis/1514394844/](https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/4d9e3f29f1aa2470bd61328b80917efbf62544d2a7fa284629448e1484d5ed9c/analysis/1514394844/)

What should i make of that, i thought this was fixed?

Using DisCoverArt version 2.6.0.1 and Mp3Tag version 2.85

First thanks for XploRR and other members developing Batch Cover Art in Mp3tag.
I remember that Discoverart v.2.6.0.1 was working beautifully a few month ago.
But it suddenly does not work now. Black Screen was popup and disappeared immediately. Google html was changed again or something is wrong with me.
All inputs will be appreciated

Hi.
I noticed that discoverart.exe stopped working about 27.01.21
Before that date all was Ok.
Now it doesn't work - tested at several PCs, on different Windows (7, 10, x32 & x64).

If look in task manager, discoverart loads and after 1 or 2 seconds unloads without any results. EXE redownloaded - no changes.

Thanks for help

Indeed Google changed its search engine output again.
Working on new version.
Keep looking for new version 2.8.0.1
Should be ready soon (see first post of this thread).

I have just downloaded, followed the instructions and it's not working.
Any chance you tell me what's wrong this time?
It shows the cover and asks me to confirm Y/N, but when I select Y it doesn't embed the cover.

Read manual: you need to create an action "Save Cover Art" to add the generated .jpg to the mp3

Great tool, I love it!
Just a question.. Could it be that there is a limit or timeout on the Google image search api?

I noticed that everything is working great until I've done about 500+ searches or so and then I simply don't get any more images back.. I don't get an error, still get popup windows, but no more images are returned or stored..

and if so.. is that a limit per day? per hour? per ip address? or do I simply clear the cache somewhere?

It seems that the bit.ly link for the file is "BLOCKED" on [bit.ly.com](http://bit.ly.com)

I'm running MP3Tag 3.14 with DisCoverArt 2.7.0.1 which gives me an error message that the mp3 files "cannot be accessed.". So, I wanted to see if the latest version could fix the issue.

Thanks!

Perhaps your MP3 files have to be checked ...

Just released a new version 2.10.0.1.
You can download it above in the first post.

**Important remark:**
DisCoverArt was completely rewritten using Yandex iso Google, because Google forces a "Before You Continue" page, forcing you to accept cookies.
Google does not allow you to anonymously use their web search engine.
Since Yandex image search is not as powerful as Google image search, it's best to use it in combination with the site parameter, to limit results from specific sites like [discogs.com](http://discogs.com) or [amazon.com](http://amazon.com)
Note that the "exclude a site from results" feature is not available on Yandex AFAIK.

first of all thank you for your work and for your intervention. I don't find it safe or appropriate to use a Russian search engine, wouldn't it have been better to use bing for example? I hope that in the future discoverart.exe will be able to work without yandex. For the moment I have made the switch to "sacad" that do not use russian engines but hope to go back to using discoverart.exe in the future.

If you don't trust Yandex, you shouldn't trust Google either (even less). Google and by extension Facebook (Meta) know more about you than you would ever suspect.
In previous versions of DisCoverArt, I used the Google Search Engine anonymously. Unfortunately, this is currently no longer possible. Google forces the use of cookies and that you accept this. I currently use Yandex completely anonymously, and the results are jpegs. No cookies or trackers are saved after an album art query. So I think this is reliable.
