Distribute files from Folder with lots of singles

Hey, I touched on this in a previous post and I think ohrenko said that if the number of folders is less than the number required, when using actions everything will be moved to one folder.

If you quote me, then quote me correctly:

If the number of the source folders is smaller than the number of target folders then you have to format value the _FILENAME as each file is moved individually to the individual new location. If you rename the _DIRECTORY, then all the files in that folder are moved to the new location.

So if you want to distribute files from 1 folder to several folders, then use an

• action of the type "Format value" for _FILENAME or
• Convert>Tag-Tag for _FILENAME or
• Convert>Tag-Filename.

The correct string would not be:

@sheepdisease

Format string:
A:\Music\Record\%artist%\%album%

but
Format string: A:\Music\Record\%artist%\%album%\%_filename%
