# Duplicating muliple filenames into the TITLE and ARTIST tag

Is it possible to copy the filename of an MP3 and then ask MP3Tag to create a new Title and Artist tag?
Any help would be greatfully accepted.

I am not quite sure what you mean.
Do you want to copy the filename into a tag and then rewrite title and stuff? Then use an action of the type Format tag field, use %my\_filename% as dummy field and use as format string %\_filename%.
Or do you want to write a new filename with the contents of your fields? then use the function tag - filename.
or do you want to use the filename to fill the tags? then use the function filename - tag.
Gimme a clue.
