I'm trying to use html\_nickless\_javasort\_lite.mte with Mp3tag v3.27 but no sorting of the tables occurs when I click on a column header in Chrome (127.0.6533.120.) I have Javascript enabled in Chrome. Is this a problem with Chrome or is this configuration file outdated? Is there a description anywhere of the differences between all of the html\_nickless\_javasort\_\* configuration files? Are there any configuration files for creating sortable HTML tables that are known to work with the current version of Chrome? Thanks.

I found this thread:

I don't know, though, whether that works better.

Thanks, but that one doesn't sort for me either.

Only FireFox Browser seems to sort the columns by mouse click currently.
(I tried it with Google Chrome, Opera, Thorium, Edge)

The script itself works as expected - if you try it in FireFox you can sort by any clickable column.

So, it works in a browser that I haven't used in a decade. Doesn't anyone here use Chrome or Edge? Why is the code browser-specific?

The original code is from 2008 - 16 years ago today and has not been updated since. I doubt that on those days the code has been browser specific.
A good question in this respect would be why the other browsers apparently left the downward compatibility path.

I have created a very basic export script that also works with the browsers "Google Chrome" or "Edge" or "Opera" (in addition to FireFox). A click on the column header sorts all the rows ascending - and with a second click on the same column header - in descending sort order.

It's up to you to prettify it with colors and fonts or rearrange the columns or add/remove columns and content.

It currently looks like this
_(this is only an image, not a working, clickable example table 😉)_
