Extended Tags

First let me thank you for your great app! I'm using it for a while now (at 1%!).

I noticed a few strange behaviour of WMP11 when displaying songs after beeing tagged :

I got rid of this issue by clearing BAND Metadata (which seem to override Artist data in WMP11) using ALT+T panel.

Any means to display other metadata in mp3 columns so that I'd know they exist and could easily delete them?

Thanks

I own a Zune 80 player :music: and have the same problem as you because the software also uses the "band" tag.

You can Synchronize what you have on your %artist% tag to the %band% one with a quick action and the following steps.

1.- Select the files you want to change

2.- Click "Actions (quick)" Button

3.- Select "Format Value"

4.- Enter The following parameters

5.- Click Ok

You can save it as an "Action Group" to have it at hand with one click.

I also bought the Zune 120 around xmas, and was bafled to change band... did not know that MP3 tags can be changed this way... i.e., with varaibles.. is there a list of all available variables that I can use ?

I mostly end up using Fixtag (from sourceforge) just to use the Directory or Parent-directory names to be used in Albums or Artists sometimes... if I can use those variables from mp3tag - that would make this as one stop shop for all tag editing for me

There's %_directory% and %_parent_directory% placeholders. You can also click on the little right arrow to get a list of placeholders.

love you, love you, love you...

I swear I can write a song for you guys

Needless to say that I will be sending Paypal money to you guys tomorrow (when I have Paypal secure key in hand

kept my promise and Paypaled you guys... thanks a lot

That's very nice, thanks

dano - I could not find %_parent_directory% via any of the placeholders when I clicked on the right button... but use the %_parent_directory% as provided by you, and it has worked very well indeed.

Is it a glitch that I am not seeing %_parent_directory% ? (Just wanted to point it out...) perhaps you could tell me where exactly is it as I checked under Extended... Information... etc etc but did not see anywhere.

I would hate to miss any more that I could use, you see

It's not there, seems it was forgotten.
