Have you tried the menu item Remove all from history from the menu that appears when you click **\>**?

This is what I found and it looks like I cannot delete a filter entry from the list.
Using 2.74a.
Select an entry from the filter list.
Select Delete from list
Filter input box is empty.
Close Mp3tag
Open Mp3tag
Open Filter dropdownlist: deleted entry is back again in the list
Next test:
For filter: Select Delete all entries
Open dropdownlist for filters: list is empty.
Close Mp3tag
Open Mp3tag
Open Filter dropdownlist: all filter entries are back again.

Thanks for the detailed description and the initial report. I can now reproduce the issue and will fix it with the next release.

This is now fixed with Mp3tag v2.75.
