Hi,

This was mentioned recently in Hydrogenaudio, but this forum is probably the most suitable one.

I think it would be very useful to have a placeholder (or variable) that could show you which character encoding has been used in an ID3v2 tag. Maybe something like _%\_tag\_id3v2\_character\_encoding%_ ?

Thanks a lot.
Regards.

Please try %\_id3v2\_character\_encoding% with the latest [Development Build](http://developer.mp3tag.de).

Best regards,
Florian

Hi,

Sorry, I haven't been able to test it until now. I'm very glad that you have added the placeholder.

I've scanned all my mp3 files with mp3tag v2.37a and it has generated the report perfectly!

MP3tag is already the best tagger available, bar none. And if you keep perfecting and improving it, then your competitors will never have a chance! 😉

Many thanks for your great program.
Best regards.
