Hi there! With FLAC files, sometimes the tag gets corrupted in a way that only affects Windows 10 File Explorer. A file will show as perfectly working in Mp3tag, and in most music players. However, in the File Explorer, no tag details will show.

I've found that if I, using Mp3tag, right click on the file, and click "Remove Tag", then refill in the details, it'll work perfectly and fix the problem. So what I'm doing now is:

1. Make a duplicate of the file
2. Remove Tag using Mp3tag.
3. Copy Tag using Mp3tag, from the duplicate file.
4. Paste Tag using Mp3tag, into the original.
5. Delete the duplicated file.

That's a lot of steps. It would be awesome if Mp3tag could have another option added to the context menu called Refresh Tag. It would in theory copy all of the information, like "Copy Tag", and then run "Remove Tag" on the file, and "Paste Tag" back onto itself. It would save quite a bit of time.

Does "Cut Tag" and then "Paste tag" work?
Or "Remove Tag" and "Undo"

Just tried Cut and then Paste, and that works. That itself actually helps a bit. No need to duplicate.

Tag Copy and then Tag Paste onto itself does NOT work.
Tag Cut and then Tag Paste onto itself does work.

So it must be that removing the tag is a required part.

Is perhaps this the root cause:

If I check Properties of a song, the Details tab is almost empty, which should be filled with album, year, etc. that I added through mp3tag. And I can't find any rule what kind of metadata can be seen in windows explorer. Some music miss track numbers, some have wrong album names and some have no titles. What's wrong?

Instead, try "Refresh" in File Explorer, for the folder containing the file.
But no matter what, I still cannot see "Comments" for FLAC files in File Explorer.

That doesn't help, because in the case I'm talking about, the tag is somehow broken.
