# Features suggestion: Importing tags from text files within an Action Group

Hi,

I very often use the ‘Import Tags from Text Files’ converter function and then run an Action Group afterwards. This is partly related to [this thread](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/72026). At the moment, this requires two steps.

It would be nice if the import mentioned above could be triggered via an Action Group. Although there is a "Import text file" action, this merely imports the entire contents of a text file into a single, specified tag.

If this is technically feasible, perhaps it is something worth considering it for a future version of MP3Tag.

Do you ask about a new Action type like Convert -\> Text file to Tag?  
A new Action that should be called "Import Tags from Text Files"?

Yes, that’s what I meant.

Yes, I think that would be a good name for it because it clearly distinguishes it from the current ‘Import Text File’ action.

I agree it could be handy to re-use the functionality from the **Convert** functions as additional **Action** types. Anything to potentially reduce manual steps in a workflow seems worthwhile.
