Hi There,

I am quite new to using MP3 Tag and I am having a few issues with the naming of my files. The main issue is that all the song seem to have a number in front of them 01/02/03 etc and this causes issues when being used with an end user device (in this case a eversolo play) as the songs display as 01 Name of Song / Artist. If I have two or three songs by the same artist from the same album they won’t show in order as all the tracks starting 01 are listed first, followed by 02 etc (see example below).

 ![MP3Tag Naming](https://community.mp3tag.de/uploads/default/original/3X/2/b/2bf1841522cb18c0d97a4f17a8ccf7c8610f6758.jpeg)

I cannot work out how to change this, please can someone guide me?

Thanks in advance 🙂

What do you want to achieve?
Get files from an artist grouped together on the player?
Which tag fields have you filled?
What data does the player use to create a sorted list? The filename? Artist? Album? Title? Track?

Hi @ohrenkino

I want to be able to see each track/artist in the correct order, so as an example George Michael As has two mixes, atm one is 01 As.wav and other 02 As (Full Crew Mix).wav however they appear in different parts of the list, and I want them to appear next to each other

Get files from an artist grouped together on the player? Yes that’s exactly what I want to do

Which tag fields have you filled? According to MP3 Tag Filename and Path, the rest are blank.

I am not sure, I will need to look, sorry ☹

That is not really satisfying.
If you want to rename the files, then it would be necessary to have the data. E.g. the ARTIST's name would be helpful. Right now I cannot see it anywhere (and probably, the player can also not see it and use it for sorting).
So, try to fill the tag fields first with Convert\>Filename-Tag
Format string: `%track% %title%`
Then enter the missing information manually, like the ARTIST, preferably also the ALBUM and ALBUMARTIST.

Then you have to find out whether the player actually reads tag data in wav files.
If so, you should be done.
If not, then a new filename would probably be required:
Try Convert\>Tag-Filename
Format string: `%artist% _ %album% _ %track% _ %title%`
If you do not know the album, leave that out.

@ohrenkino following on from your suggestion I have named all the appropriate files with their artists, I will have a look at testing the outcome and let you know. It make take me a day or two to reply. Thanks again 🙂
