# File type in Windows explorer

Winamp is my default player for all media file types.  
However, is it possible to chgange how it displays these files in windows explorer. I would rather see "mp3" than "Winamp Media File" for example

> in Explorer open menu Tools - Folder Options - File Types  
> select the file extension you want to change, click Advanced button, change string to display, Close

Thanks Andreas, that's exactly what I wanted. I guess I should have known that myself. I'm getting lazy in my old age!
