I have a Macbook Air (Intel) running Sonoma 14.8 and MP3Tag v1.14 which reads files from a Sandisk 500 SSD; however, it does not show the artist, album, title or any other fields. Those fields are blank. It only shows the date of modification. I have swapped SSD drives, both apple formatted as well as exFat and have read a directory on local drive as well all to no avail. What could be wrong?

What is the file type you are trying to look at here? If these are mp3 files you could have APE tags blocking access to other id3 information. Select one of these files and open the Extended Tags box. Take note at the top of the box which tag types are found in that file. A screenshot would help from that window.

Thanks for pitching in. When I open any file, the extended tags dialog box shows APEV2. Nothing else on any of them.

Thanks for pitching in. When I open the file, then the extended tags I get APEV2. Nothing else on any of them. The only info in the box is the mp3 gain settings from my gain software.

This same SSD works fine on windows. I use it on the mac to sync with my iPhone and recently wanted to edit the files on mp3Tag on the mac when I discovered this issue.

Update: I deselected the remove id3/2/ape tag option in global tag settings and voila! It now works. Duh...

Again, thanks for pitching in. You pointed me in the right direction.
