# Finding unsynced ID3v1 and v2 tags

Hi,
XBMC is showing both v1 and v2 tags. I have some unsynced tags. This causes dual listings in the DB. Is there a way to scan for unsynced tags?

Not really as the mp3tag's reading of tags is determined by the settings in File\>Options\>Mpeg. All read tags are then mapped onto a unique representation in MP3tag.
The priority is APE\>V2\>V1
The ways I can think of:
- copy&paste all tags -\> this will write the same information into V2 and V1 tags
- delete V1 tags and leave only V2 tags.

I thought APE tags were enabled in advancedsettings.xml. Is this APE tag enabling required to get XBMC to prioritise V2 tags?
Also XBMC now uses the Album Artist tag. Where is that in Mp3Tag Studio?

What are you talking about?
I do not know anything about such an xml file and the programme that is discussed in this forum is simply called MP3tag. No Studio.
Do you need support for a completely different programme?
No, the APE priority is simply a programme feature.
Actually, it is usually advisable to remove any APE tags.
If you do not know the name of a particular field, have a look at the online help. Or open the extended tags dialogue (Alt-T) to see the fieldnames and the contents.
The album artist is ALBUMARTIST in MP3tag.

When you mentioned APE prioritisation I assumed you were talking about XBMC as it has an optional APE prioritisation.
