Newbie here!!
I finally finished tagging my .mp3s, but when I exit mp3tag the filenames are still the same? Am I doing something wrong?

Filenames are no tags. They are a property that the OS needs to address the files.
If you want to rename the files, use Convert\>Tag-Filename.
Also, have a look at the documentation

> **[First Steps – Mp3tag Documentation](https://docs.mp3tag.de/getting-started/first-steps/#renaming-files-based-on-tags)**
>
> A collection of tasks with step-by-step instructions intended for novice users of Mp3tag. Mp3tag is the universal Tag Editor.
