# flac album artist for wmp (with plugin)

Newbie. Past month have been trying to recover my music library (iTunes and WMP seemed to destroy it!) and found mp3tag a great tool. Slowly making good progress  
Now decided to add all future music using FLAC. I repeated my mp3tag 'actions' to setup albumartist (etc).

On WMP (W7) with FLAC files enabled it adds the files into the library and tags look ok except albumartist - which appears always to to be the artist although in mp3tag i have set this as 'various artists' (as its a Compilation).

Question - can mp3tag set albumartist for FLAC files and will this tag be accepted by WMP (W7)? Maybe its a limitation of the WMP plugin for FLAC.

When i view the FLAC files (after WMP has added them) the albumartist still states 'various artists' and so WMP (W7) has not overwritten.

How do you add "album artist" in mp3tag?

What does "View \> Extended tags" show in mp3tag?

What plugin for wmp do you use?

Is your album artist that you are adding "albumartist" or "album artist" (note space). Different programs sometime use on or the other of these.
