# Flac: 'ALBUM ARTIST' to 'ALBUMARTIST'

I have a couple of questions that I could not find answered in the FAQ or the forum.
1. In a flac file, does mp3tag store the Album Artist tag as 'ALBUM ARTIST' or 'ALBUMARTIST'? The latter without the space seems to be more common in music players. Flac tags are not listed in the tag mapping page [https://docs.mp3tag.de/mapping](https://docs.mp3tag.de/mapping)
2. I have a collection of flac files which have been tagged with 'ALBUM ARTIST' tags and I would like to replace that with the more common 'ALBUMARTIST' tag. Can mp3tag help me do this? In the ALT-T extended tagging window I only see 'Album Artist' with a space in the middle which is not what I want, and the Replace action also does not seem to be quite what I need unless I misunderstood the description.

Almost all flac tags are stored as they are written.
That means ALBUM ARTIST is ALBUM ARTIST
and ALBUMARTIST is ALBUMARTIST
What makes you say ALBUMARTIST is more common?

There is extensive discussion of which is correct on both the HydrogenAudio forum and the Slimdevices forum. The conclusion seems to be that for flac the best option is ALBUMARTIST (one word).

I think what I might do is just add ALBUMARTIST=%album artist% and maintain both. That should work for everything I think.
