I stumbled on this which was exactly what I needed.
Worked great with 3 vols of the same LP.
But one won't take no matter what I try.
Mark all.
Quit, Mark all.
Any suggestions as to what the issue might be?

hard to say, as

you don't tell us what you tried (i.e. which function you use), what the filename looks like, what kind of files these are and whether you checked the files for consistency if they refuse to be tagged.

the files are consistent, near as I can tell.

The pattern in your filename is
number hyphen number blank words blank hyphen blank words
The pattern in your format string is
field blank hyphen blank field blank hyphen blank field
So: they don't match.

Fixed. Thanks ohrenkino.
Now hopefully I can get the numbering where I want it.
