I'm hoping someone could help me please. I have a whole bunch of filenames that I need to make tags from as the tags are empty. Here is an example file:

07.Saxon - Princess Of The Night.mp3

In case there is any confusion, Saxon is the artist, Princess of the Night the song title.
I've got everything set up nicely so that I can go Tag-\>Filename later to fix the filename, but getting the info into the tag is throwing me.
Thanks for any help you can give.

You can use the converter "Filename - Tag" and a format string like

`%track%.%artist% - %title%`

to get the info into the tag.

The basic concept is the notion of a format string which describes the structure of the name to import from. The format string is built of either standard text (e.g., Music), placeholders (such as %artist%, %title%, ...), or backslash characters \ that denote directory structures. Here is an example that imports t…

Thanks, that worked perfectly.
I was all worried that was going to be a lot harder than it was. I will read the FAQ and try to figure out the next one before I bother anyone with it.

Thanks again and thanks for the great program. It has saved me so much time!
