I am not sure what you mean by "show the tags"

The main window will show a group of some standard ones like Album, Artist, etc.

If you want to see _all_ of the tag fields available in mp3tag you can select any files or group of files, then use Alt-T to open the Extended tag window.

Where do you want to show which Tags?
Do you want to add a new column to the File List?

> **[File List – Mp3tag Documentation](https://docs.mp3tag.de/customization/file-list/)**
>
> Customization options for the File List, including adding, removing, hiding, and rearranging of columns. Mp3tag is the universal Tag Editor.

Do you want to add a new field to the Tag Panel?

> **[Tag Panel – Mp3tag Documentation](https://docs.mp3tag.de/customization/tag-panel/)**
>
> Customization options for the Tag Panel, including adding, removing, hiding, and rearranging of fields. Mp3tag is the universal Tag Editor.

What "Tag" content exactly do you want to see there?
Can you show us an example, maybe with a [screenshot](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/hints-for-asking-support-requests/56190#use-screenshots-to-exemplify-the-issue-2)?

Windows Explorer has very limited access to most tag fields. Your best way is to use the Extended Tag window I explained in post#2 and find out where the tag "cute" is actually being stored.

Don't get your hopes up for too much success though. Explorer is definitely not well developed around audio files and metadata.

I just created my own "Tags" in an mp4 file and checked that file with Mp3tag's extended tags (no display) and a hex editor. That shows the data in the field WM/Category which (I think) is not supported by MP3tag.
Unfortunately, the information field %\_id3v2\_unknown\_frames% does not react to these WM/xyz fields.

I can confirm the findings from @ohrenkino

A manually added word "Markierung" in the Windows File Explorer to a MP4 file is only visible in a Hex-Editor:

"Markierungen" is the German translation for "Tags" in the Windows File Explorer:

ExifTools shows the following metadata entry with the option **-G5**

or with **-G7** :
