# How do I copy CODEC and BIT RATE info

Hi, I’m a total noob with this software so forgive me ahead of time. Question: I haven an album where all the files are fine except one, which is missing the CODEC and BIT RATE info. I can’t figure out how to simply copy this information from one file to the file that is missing this information. HELP. Thanks!

If such vital information is missing, then the file is probably broken.
Check the integrity.
In any case: the fields %\_codec% and %\_bitrate% are read-only for MP3tag and cannot be modified.
