I would like to make a playlist file for certain genres & tags from a root folder. These folders include a few different file formats. And if I keep adding music, would I need to keep re-making the playlist?
For example, I would like to only play the hit singles from different rock genres. I have them separated into two folders with these tags:

\< RELEASETYPE \> Album; Single
\< RELEASETYPE \> Single

Folder structure:

> FULL ALBUMS
>
> > EDM
> > Rock
> > Metal

> SINGLE FILES
>
> > EDM
> > Rock
> > Metal

I hope this all makes sense.

You could load the files and filter for the criteria that you want to have in one playlist.
Then generate the playlist with the function from the menu File.

Then apply the next filter for the other set and generate the next playlist.

And yes, you would have to generate the playlists each time you change something in your collection. There is no automatical update.

With the new feature to manage filter expressions, you can setup the filter, name it and recall it, so that you get the results much quicker than writing complicated export scripts.

if you need more details on filters, check out the [documentation](https://docs.mp3tag.de/filter/) and/or supply some more details about the tag fields that should be considered.
