Hi all!

Generally i use a certain program to clean up all my music and then Mp3tag go polish off a few extra details.

When an album has more than one cd the program i use will name album fields as the following

i.e

Album Name - CD 1
Album Name CD 1
Album Name (CD 2)
Album Name - [Disk 2]

And all kinds of variations.

Obviously on my iphone this creates too many "albums". I would like to know how i can bulk edit the Album string for all my albums to find and delete these different kind of endings but leave the album name so

"Album Name - Disk 3" becomes JUST "Album Name"

Thanks for your help!!

use regexp replace:
replace: [\s|\s(|\s-\s|\s-\s[][CD|Disk].\*$
replace with: blank

Try this on a few single files first as I haven't tested it because I'm on my phone.

You could also try this to change all the variations to one type of string ending. e.g. 'album name - Disk 01'

use regexp replace:
replace: (.+)[\s|\s(|\s-\s|\s-\s[][CD|Disk]\s(\d+).\*$
replace with: $1 - Disk $2

Again test on single files.

At first you can apply the Mp3tag Filter [F3] with the following Filter expression ...

**ALBUM MATCHES "\s-?\s?[[(]?(?:CD|Disk)?\s\d+[])]?$"**

... to display only those files, which match the filter criterion.

Then you can apply ... the Converter "Tag - Tag" ... or ... the Action "Format value" ...
Field: ALBUM
Formatstring: **$regexp(%ALBUM%,'\s-?\s?[[(]?(?:CD|Disk)?\s\d+)]?$',)**
... to let Mp3tag edit the field ALBUM.

You can start collecting all kinds of variations, so we can try to find out an universal solution or all kinds of special solutions.
