Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well.

**First of all:** English is not my native language, and I am very, very, very bad with technology, though I can learn quickly if things are explained well. Please be kind.

I would like to perform searches/filtering that are case-sensitive (distinguishing between uppercase and lowercase letters). For example:

I want to search my music folder for files that contain the word " **the**" (all lowercase), " **The**" (only the first letter capitalized), or " **THE**" (all uppercase).

Is this possible in Mp3tag? Is there a "formula" or expression I can enter into the search/filter field?

Thanks in advance, and please, excuse any communication errors I may have made.

To filter for all the "The", try
Filter: `%title% MATCHES "(?-i)The "`
For the "the" try
Filter: `%title% MATCHES "(?-i)the "`

THANK YOU SO MUCH! It worked very well!

I made a few adjustments for my own personal use, and it ended up like this:

%title% MATCHES "(?-i) The "
%title% MATCHES "(?-i) the "
%title% MATCHES "(?-i) THE "

If it’s not too much trouble, could you explain this expression to me?

I understand the function of _MATCHES_, but what does _(?-i)_ mean? I’d like to learn about it so I can use it in future expressions myself.

Thanks in advance!

MATCHES behaves like a regular expression.
`(?-i)` in regular expressions means: do not ignore case
