# How to fill in the same value in an mp3 tag across multiple files?

How do I fill in the same value in an mp3 tag across multiple files?

If I want to fill in the genre tag for a group of selected files all as 'Rock' or fill in the album tag for all the songs in the album the same, how do I do that?

Use the Tag Panel, which is the group of fields with labels on the left-hand side of Mp3tag's user interface.

First, select the files to be modified (Ctrl+A selects all files, or use Ctrl+Left-Mouse-Click to select individual files). Then change one or more field values in the Tag Panel and press the 'Save' button or use Ctrl+S. Unlike editing in the columns on the right, saving your changes is required when you edit within the Tag Panel.

Select All files (Ctrl+A) and then fill in the desired field

First try it out on a couple of test files

Ahhhhhh..... The save button is the action key for the left side fields!
