# How to filter songs with japanese characters

I looked around and only found a post about guessing values, switching fields and all. Not what I want.
I only want to filter songs that have japanese characters.
I tried using this `$regexp(%title%,'[\x00-\x7F]+',)` which selects non-ascii characters, but it didn't work in the filter bar.

Please be aware that the unicode characters
U+3040, U+3097 and U+3098

Just for the record:

This filter expression lists all tracks with NON-ASCII characters in the tag TITLE.
Of course this includes the japanese characters as well.
But the range \x00-\x7F includes much more characters that just the japanese NON-ASCII characters. For example also the "[ASCII control characters](https://www.ascii-code.com/)".

This becomes more tricky, if you only want to filter for japanese characters with the ranges listed above.
(Or if you still want to see all the tracks with [Cyrillic](https://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0400.pdf) characters or [Thai](https://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0E00.pdf) characters or [Greek](https://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0370.pdf) characters for example.)

neither worked T-T it apparently only filters out 2 songs out of 3713, and it shows songs that don't have japanese characters

Or maybe you can show a [screenshot](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/hints-for-asking-support-requests/56190#use-screenshots-to-exemplify-the-issue-2) of your list where you see more TITLE that should be filtered?

What if you try this syntax:
`TITLE MATCHES [\x{3041}-\x{3096}]`
or
`TITLE MATCHES [\x{3041}-\x{3096}|\x{30A0}-\x{30FF}]`
