# $if2 "true"

Really, any tag name.

i.e. $if2(%album artist%,%artist%)

Returns "album artist" if it is present in the tag, otherwise returns "artist".

Thanks, but I find truth is not confined to tag names.

I suspect true is any non-null value, but would like confirmation.

No, it is not the tag name but the tag content that must exist to be evaluated as TRUE by $if2().  
If you think of the tag name, then you would code $if2(ARTIST, ...)

with "it" meaning "content".

I believe your statement is correct, but it does have to be value supported in Tagz.
