That thread only talks about using Edit>Move, which does work as expected, honoring the "Keep moved files" setting.

It also explains which files will still be displayed regardless of the option's setting. You would have to check whether the files that you want to disappear can still be found in the current working directory and its sub-directories.

The files are being moved out of the working directory.
