# Limit Export field length

Is there a way to limit an export field length? I think I would use $len The reason I ask this question is because some albums I have, have a big comment field and when I use an export to show all the albums of a certain artist it list the comments for that album but I would like to modify the export so that it limits the length of the comment field to say only 1 line in the resulting html that gets generated.

You can use $left(%comment%,30) to limit the output to the first 30 characters of the comment field.
