# Mark forum topic as 'read'

May be a dumb question, but is there any way of marking a forum thread as 'read'? Also mark a group of topics 'read'? I’ve had a good look around but can’t find a way of achieving these basic tasks.
I know that the time-line to the right can be dragged down but I’ve found that this method can be hit-or-miss on large topics.

You can press end when visiting such a topic, this should mark it as read. Marking a group of topics as read is [not possible with Discourse](https://meta.discourse.org/t/ability-to-select-multiple-unread-topics-and-mark-as-read/89308).

Thanks for your response. I probably should have stated that I usually read the forums on my iPad (no keyboard). Is there a way of simulating the 'end' key in this case?

I think the equivalent would be tapping on the bottom end date displayed below the timeline slider.
