Hello everyone, and thank you for your work.
I have music tracks with three types in the title field that aren't genres, but rather remix types: " **Open Show," "Mashup,"** and **"Transition."**
How can I add this description to the value already present at the end of the genre field? (Or, if empty, add the value to the genre field.)

Ex... if a track contain "open Show" in the title and same track contain "pop" as genre, the result in the genre fieldwill be "Pop Open Show"
Thanks

I would filter for each of these terms (as there are only so few of them) e.g. with
`%title% HAS "open show"`
Select all matching files.
Then use Convert \> Tag - Tag for GENRE
Format string: `[%genre%]Open Show`

Repeat it correspondingly for the other types

If you want to move the strings (i.e. delete them from TITLE), then apply
Convert \> Tag - Tag for TITLE
Format string: `$replace(%title%, Open Show,, Mashup,, Transition,)`

You might consider creating a separate field "STYLE" in which to add descriptive terms that are not strictly genres.

This general idea is also used by [discogs](https://www.discogs.com/) where both GENRE and STYLE are listed separately; for example:

- (genre): Electronic; Funk/Soul; Rock ...
- (style): Disco; Electro; House; Acoustic ...

Whether this is a useful separation depends an awful lot on the player and whether it can cope with user-defined fields - STYLE is not a standard field.

I do this myself to maintain a separation of concerns, but depending upon the endpoint -- the example you gave suggests possibly exporting "as-is" to a playlist or cue-sheet -- I would finally reintegrate both GENRE and STYLE as one standard field.
